Robert Lillard "Bob" Tobergte

Robert "Bob" Lillard Tobergte, 78, of Elsmere, KY, passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He was a U.S. Marine Corps Vietnam War Veteran, holding the rank of Lance Corporal. Bob was a retired Conductor with CSX Railroads with 30+ years of service. He was a member of the Hobo Club in Ludlow, KY. Bob was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating on the Ohio River. Bob loved to reload his own ammunition for his firearms. He enjoyed helping others and would often cut grass for his neighbors and friends in need. Bob was the dad that would take his family and the neighbor's kids snake hunting. Ziplining in his 70's with his grandson Justin was one of the highlights of his life. Bob loved his family and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren play sports. He was a true patriot who truly loved his country. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years: Debbie Tobergte; sons: David (Tracey) Tobergte and Bobby (Stephanie) Tobergte; siblings: Richard (Madeline) Tobergte and Sharon Franklin; grandchildren: Justin (Angela) Tobergte, Morgan Tobergte, Eric (Kayla) Tobergte, Kourtney Smith, Kyle Smith, Alexis Jones and Chandler Jones and great-grandchildren: Ellie, Xavier, Colt, Cailyn, Bella and Savanah. Bob is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Visitation will take place on Monday, December 23, 2024 from 10:00 AM until the Funeral Service at 12:00 PM (Noon) at Connley Brothers Funeral Home, 11 East Southern Avenue, Covington (Latonia), KY 41015. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery North in Williamstown, KY.
