Robert W. "Bob" Tripp, age 80, lifelong resident of Oswego, IL, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025 at Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora, IL. He was born November 19, 1944 in Aurora, IL, the son of the late Norval and Mildred nee Grossklags Tripp.
Bob was well known in the Oswego community as second generation owner of N.M. Tripp Insurance Agency. He was also volunteer firefighter for 35 years, 27 as commissioner. He was also a member of St. Anne Catholic Church for over 50 years. A kind man, he was always ready to lend a helping hand. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing, but above all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Janet nee Hoffman Tripp, children Timothy (Carrie) Tripp, Tom Tripp, Tess (T.J.) McEachern, grandchildren Jeremiah (Jenny) Tripp, Cassie (Jake) Peschl, Jake (Courtney) Tripp, Tyler Tripp, Tommy Tripp, Alec, Hayes and Avery McEachern, 8 great-grandchildren, nephews Michael Tripp, and David (Jean) and John (Cheryl) Hoffman.
He was preceded in death by parents, great-granddaughter Terri Tripp and brother Richard Tripp.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at DUNN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME with CREMATROY, 1801 S. Douglas Road, Oswego, IL 60543. A luncheon will follow at Fox Bend Golf Course on Rt. 34 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Burial will be private.
