I met Bob when he arrived as the new dean of the Ithaca College School of Business. I quickly learned about the power of doing your research well and saying little. I learned as much from Bob in 4 years as most of my other deans combined. Sure miss you.

I wish I had worked with Bob Ullrich earlier in my career. I learned more from Bob as his associate dean than I learned from all my other deans put together over my 35 year career. Bob went about being a dean much like the best college presidents in that he understood that what matters at the end of the day was to think and act strategically, to inspire people dispassionately with well thought out plans based on the best the college could become.

I will miss Bob's wisdom as a leader and his unique sense of humor. He broke most every rule of modern management, yet he was a brilliant leader. I worked as his associate dean during his years at Ithaca College. He made a major impact on my own development as a leader and as a person.
