Robert J. Umecker

Robert "Bob" J. Umecker, Age 75, passed away suddenly and tragically on December 28, 2025. He was a devoted Mt. Greenwood area resident for most of his life, from his time as a St. Christina student, graduating in 1964, to his days playing softball in the park.

As the proud owner of Umecker Concrete, his lasting stamp can be seen in the neighborhoods of Beverly, Morgan Park, Mt. Greenwood, and the surrounding suburbs.

Bob was greeted in heaven by the loving embrace of his parents, Mary Florence (Martin) and Willard Victor Umecker, his brother Jim Umecker, his grandson Charles Buturusis, and his dog Wriggles (Wrigley).

He is survived by his beloved life partner Donna M. Umecker, nee Wilmot for 58 years; He was the loving father of Teresa L. Buturusis and Robert C. Umecker; Dearest grandfather of Colin, Dylan, Ella Buturusis; Dear brother of Chuck (Terry) Umecker, Bill (Kathie) Umecker, Mary (Art) Welcome, Mick (Cindy) Umecker, George Umecker;

He was cherished by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family extends their deepest gratitude to his dedicated friend and caretaker, Tim Cronin, for his invaluable years of assistance with doctor's appointments, errands, and heartfelt companionship.
