Robert Vanderlaan Obituary
Robert attended Western Michigan Christian High School in Muskegon, MI. He continued his education at Calvin College and University of Michigan where he received a degree in engineering. He was employed by National Water Lift (now Parker HSD) in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He received many patents for his work.
Robert is survived by his sons; Wayne (Sue) Vanderlaan, Dale Vanderlaan, and Lee (Hillary) Vanderlaan and daughter-in-law, Jessica Vanderlaan. Grandchildren; Rachel (Brian) Mulder and family, Megan (Steve) Zandstra and family, Erin (Jeremy) Ward and family, Lindsey Vanderlaan, Kaitlyn Vanderlaan, Mitchell Vanderlaan, Hannah Vanderlaan and Justin Vanderlaan. He is also survived by his siblings; Ruth Holstine, Douglas (Jean) Vanderlaan, and Glenn (Marla) Vanderlaan and many nieces and nephews.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Carol, his sister Virginia and her husband Marv Zuidema, his brother-in-law Jim Holstine and his brother-in-law David Mulder.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5th Reformed Church, 2012 Griggs St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49506, on Friday, December 20, 2024 at 1pm. Visitation will precede the service from 11am to 1pm.
