Robert Vanier

Robert P. Vanier of Conway Court, Troy, NY Passed away on January 26, 2023, after having fallen ill. He was born October 15, 1953, to Henry + Dodly Vanier. He was a very loved member of his community. He spent 20+ years between the Mountain View + Speigleton Fire Departments. He was also involved for 20+ years with the Boy Scouts of America. He was also a driver's safety class instructor. As well as the work he did for St. Mary's and Samaritan Hospitals. In his younger years, he was a member of the Waterland Diving team. As well as his big brother.
He is predeceased by his wife Ann Vanier, Brother Jimmy, as well as his brother David F. Vanier, his sister-in-law Susan L. MaGrath Vanier and Nephew David T. Vanier + Son in law Luis Martinez.
Survived By children John Stiefel, Daughters Ollie Martinez and Kandy Mannix, as well as Niece Christina + Wife Carolyn (Pandozy)Vanier, Nephew Eric + Wife Bridget (Alger) Vanier. Great Niece Kendal + Husband Jim Jones, great nephews Blake Alger, Joshua Vanier + Andrew Vanier. And his extended family Russ + Carrie Coutere. Tyler Smith + Sister MacKenzie Smith of Troy, Donovan Laplante of Troy, and good friends Bob Mason of Troy, as well as his beloved pup Chloe.
The family will be doing a small service later in the spring. Services are entrusted to Brown Funeral Home in Plattsburgh.
