Robert Andrew Veschak, age 64, passed away peacefully at his home in Lakeville early on Sunday morning, January 11, 2026. Bob was born on February 14, 1961, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, to the late Daniel and Shirley (Kosowski) Veschak.

On August 8, 2013, he married Anette Mayfield, and together they shared over 17 yrs (12 years married) of friendship, love, laughter, good and bad, all part of building a life together.

Bob is survived by his wife, Anette Veschak of Lakeville, and all of their children, Angela (Adam) Berwick, Kathleen Veschak, Kara Gelet, Melissa Kikkert, Morgan Gelet, Tanner Henning, and Lucas Henning, and he was a proud grandfather to 24 grandchildren. Surviving as well are his siblings, Vicki (Bob) Livingston, Deborah (Jim) Bulanda, Daniel (Sue) Veschak, Jean (Colin) Werner, Christine (Dimas) Linan, and Ronald Veschak, along with many extended family members and friends. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his former wife, Susan Veschak.

Bob dedicated more than 40 years of his life to the “Ethanol Plant,” in South Bend, where he worked as a supervisor. He was well respected not only for his strong work ethic, but also for his leadership, dependability, and the care he showed to those he worked alongside.

Outside of work, Bob found happiness in simple, meaningful moments. He loved hosting pool parties with his family, riding his Harley, working on the family farm, and continually improving the house he and Anette called home. Bob was especially handy and could fix almost anything! From engines to erecting buildings, skills he both enjoyed and mastered over the years. He also loved to watch football. Bob and Lucas spent his last afternoon together watching the Bears win against the Packers 31 to 27. He was a happy man.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held from 1 pm to 4 pm on February 1, 2026 at the Lakeville Conservation Club where he and Lucas were members. This will be an open house to remember Bob.
