Robert C. "Bob" Vessey, Jr., 64, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at his residence.
Born September 2, 1958 in Beech Grove, he was the son Robert C. Vessey, Sr. and Dorothy Lucille (Robbins) Vessey.
Survivors include a son Reynier Naredo, 3 daughters- Ronaleen A. Naredo, Rhonna A. Naredo, Weine Noredo Claros, all of the Philippines; sister Belinda Patterson of Indianapolis; Niece Margaret Cox of Indy; great niece Jade Leadingham of Indy; 2 great nephews- Jacob Leadingham of Indy & Matt Vessey of Indy., and 2 grandchildren- Urii & Mira. He is also survived by fur baby Mogwai. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, loving companion Edna A. Naredo, 2 sisters- Barbara Vessey & Carol Mantz, and fur baby Molly.
Mr. Vessey had lived in this area for several years after moving from Indianapolis. He worked with TruGreen in lawncare/landscaping, retiring in 2003 after 21 years of service. He also did yard work for others on the side. He was a member of the American Legion, and also was a volunteer with Salvation Army. He was a US Navy veteran.
Bob enjoyed old cars, telling war stories, animals, and he loved cutting hair, (he was a barber for several years), and enjoyed watching the grandkids on Facetime.
A Celebration of Life will be 12:00 noon on Thursday, March 30, 2023 at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road. Friends may call on Thursday morning from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion.

Hey Bob, we miss you and talk about you and share stories we had with you. Lillian wrote a paper about you for a veteran's day program she had. We salute you not just for your service but for being a friend and welcomed part of our family. I hope you look down and check on us once in awhile I know we look up everyday for you.
