Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 28, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Greater 2nd Mt. Olive Baptist Church, 103 Dewey Street, Albany, Georgia.
Interment will follow in the Floral Memorial Gardens, 120 Old Pretoria Road, Albany, Georgia 31707.
Robert Vickers was born on March 3, 1942, to the late J.Y. and Pecola Vickers in Dothan, Alabama the oldest son of eleven children.
He enlisted in the United States Marine Corps at the age of 26 and served as a proud proud Marine for over 20 years retiring as a First Sergeant, a proud honor. After retirement, he worked with civil service for over 14 years. Throughout his career, he was known for his hard work ethic, dedication, and passion for helping others.
In his free time, he enjoyed being outside growing vegetables in his backyard garden and was eager to share his knowledge and wisdom with others.
Robert is survived by his wife of 35 years, Carolyn D. Vickers; children, Lisa Graves of N. Jersey, Robert Vickers, Jr., of Maryland, and Vincent Vickers of Rome, Georgia; and three grandchildren. Robert's memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
