Dr. Robert V. Vining DDS

Dr. Robert V. Vining, DDS, 90, of Lincoln, went to be with his Lord on February 21, 2010. Bob passed away peacefully at home with his devoted family by his side. Bob was born in Sioux City, Iowa to Virgil & Randy (Mansager) Vining. In 1937 he graduated from Ellsworth High School in Iowa. He graduated from the University of Iowa with a BA in Science. Immediately following graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and married wife Rosemary in 1942. Following his service in the Navy he enrolled in Dental School at the University of Iowa where he graduated first in his class. He joined a private practice in Oelwein, IA. He then taught at Creighton University and the University of Iowa. In addition to teaching, he also had a 13 year career as Director of Research and Development in Chicago, IL. he later returned to Creighton and became the Dean of Creighton University College of Dentistry and then Vice President of Health Sciences. Preceded in death by: Parents; Virgil and Randy, wife of 57 years; Rosemary, Daughter; Joan Vining-Bahl, Brothers, Harold, Curtis, Glen & Gale. Survived by: Daughter and Son-in-law of Lincoln, Jane and David James; Son-in-law and wife Setauket, NY, Lalit and Bablu Bahl; Grandchildren & Spouses: Krishna Bahl of Raleigh, NC, Kiran Bahl of Lincoln, Ashok Bahl of Keene, NH, Julane & Travis Amen, Melinda Clark, Angela Clark, Gina & Jeremy Durr all of Lincoln, Lisa & Chad Bothern, Pickrell, NE and Kevin & Kimi Clark, Gretna, NE and seven Great-Grandchildren Kiara, Dellante, Ashley, Jack, Lily, Miles, and Asher.
