Robert Vondrasek Obituary
Robert James Vondrasek was born to Frank and Helen (Merchlewitz) Vondrasek on May 18, 1933, in Winona, MN. After graduating from high school in Richmond, CA, he was drafted to serve in the Army during the Korean War. After being honorably discharged, he earned his bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. There is where he met his wife, Suzanne "Sue" M. Yseth; they were united in marriage in 1959. They had five children together and eventually moved to Northfield in 1972. He worked his entire professional career for Control Data from 1960 to 1991.
Bob loved sports; especially playing them. In his youth he played basketball and fast pitch softball. In Northfield, he led the CommEd rec volleyball, was a member of the In the Pink bowling team, and was a member of the Northfield Golf Club which truly was his home away from home playing 18 holes of golf at least 4 times a week up until his passing. He also loved spending time with his family whether it be walking around town, watching them play sports, playing games, or just hanging out. He will be lovingly remembered for his kind heart and gentle presence.
He is survived by his loving wife; their children, Tom (Tara), John, and Katy (John Gaub) of Northfield and Bill (Jamie) of Adrian, MI; grandchildren, Kristy (Joe Rogowski), Alex (Sydney), Andrew, Matthew (Tori Jensen), Anthony and Aiden; great-grandchildren, Vinton and Juniper; sisters, Joni Hansen, Patty (Tom) Hall, and Moni Crothers; and many extended family members and dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his infant son, Mark Anthony; his parents; and brothers-in-law George Hansen and Dave Crothers.
Private Mass of Christian Burial to be held at St. Dominic Church in Northfield. Interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery will be held at a later date.
The family would like to thank all of those that called, emailed, and visited the last few months. Bob was a devout catholic and a life-long learner; memorials to St. Dominic School in Northfield are preferred. No flowers please.

Bob was a heck of a great guy. Mild mannered, would give you the shirt off his back. Bob was the commissioner of golf at Northfield. Can’t say I ever heard Bob swear or take a practice swing or clean his clubs. Bob will be greatly missed. Loved you Bob
