September 4, 1970 - January 7, 2026
Robert "Rob" Wagner was born on September 4, 1970, in Bismarck, North Dakota, to Duane Wagner and Jeannette (Tweeten). On January 7, 2026, Rob passed away at his home. Though his life ended far too soon, the love, laughter, and faith he shared will continue to live on in the many hearts and lives he touched. Rob lived an active and people-filled life. After high school, he proudly served in the Army National Guard. He later attended NDSU, specializing in computers. While he was highly intelligent and capable, Rob's true passions were found beyond his profession - as a woodworker, herbalist, researcher, and mechanic, he was always learning, building, and sharing his knowledge with others. Rob truly loved people. He was often the first to offer a hug and always ready with a quick remark that could make anyone laugh. He had a sharp wit, a warm heart, and a remarkable ability to strike up long, meaningful, and often entertaining conversations with just about anyone. Strangers quickly became friends in Rob's presence.
A deeply devoted Christian, Rob's faith was central to his life. He spoke openly about his love for God and lived it through kindness, generosity, and compassion. He loved his family fiercely and was immensely proud of being a father and grandfather. Rob is survived by his daughters, Breanna Wagner (partner Will), McKenzie Wagner (partner Isaiah), and Jordyn Wagner (partner Aldair); his beloved grandson, Harrison; his sister, Barb Schank (Brent); his nephew, Connor Schank; and his niece, Camden Schank. His love for them was constant and unconditional.
Rob's passing is a profound loss, and his absence leaves an ache that words cannot fully express. He will be remembered for his faith, his laughter, his hugs, and the way he made people feel seen, valued, and loved. May his memory be a blessing, and may those who loved him find comfort in one another and in the love he shared so freely.
