Robert Lee “Boody” Waites, 62, of Converse, Louisiana entered into eternal rest on Saturday, July 22, 2023 in Many, Louisiana. He was born on June 8, 1961 in Zwolle, Louisiana to Henry Waites and Opal (Ruff) Waites.
A visitation will be held at Kilpatrick’s Rose-Neath Many Chapel on Thursday, July 27, 2023 from 5:00 p. m. until 8:00 p.m.; continuing Friday, July 28, 2023 from 8:00 a.m. until time of his service. Funeral services will begin at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Bobby Russell officiating. A burial will immediately follow in The Garden of Memories Cemetery in Zwolle, Louisiana.
Preceding Robert in death are his parents, Henry & Opal (Ruff) Waites; his sisters, Lisa Waites, and Gloria Jean Calhoun; and his brothers, Ellis Shepherd, Jimmy Waites, and Ted Miller. He is survived by his sisters, Helen Burr of Many, LA, Shenell Waites of Clarkston, GA, and Odessia Wiseman of Decatur, GA; and his other relatives, Darryl Dyess and wife, Lisa of Converse, LA; Clint Houston and the Dyess family. In addition, he leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other family members.
Honoring him as pallbearers will be Josh Brandon, Clint Houston, Tyler Richardson, Ricky (K-Wall) Sepulvado, Douglas Frazier, Ronnie Cole, and Zachary Wiseman.
The family would like to say, “Thank You” to each and every one who has supported them in this tough time and who will help to see them through the hard days ahead as they mourn the passing of “Boody.”
Boody was a friend to all who would go above and beyond for anyone even for people he did not know. He was extremely helpful, and kind and he never met a stranger. He will be loved and missed by all his friends and family members.
