Robert Walker

Robert "Bob" A. Walker, 89, of Boynton Beach, Florida, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2025. Bob was born June 14, 1936, in Battle Creek, to Durward and Marion (Ingram) Walker.
Bob graduated from Marshall High School in 1955. Following high school he went to work for Consumers (Power) Energy for 33 years, initially as a tree trimmer in the forestry department and later as supervisor. He also served in the Air National Guard in Battle Creek for nine years.
Bob married Mary Ann Sexton on June 20, 1959, in Marshall. They have two daughters and enjoyed living and raising them on their farm. After retirement, Bob and Mary Ann became Florida snowbirds for 26 years before becoming full-time residents four years ago.
Bob's passion was racing harness horses, which he and his family did for 30 years. He loved all aspects of racing, training, shoeing his own horses, and sharing racing stories. He was especially proud of his homebred, Maw's Big Boy, who was a top trotter in the state and held the 3-year-old colt trot track record at Jackson Raceway for several years. Bob also enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and helping friends farm.
Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Ann; and daughters Cindy Smith (Fred) and Julia Sciacca (Marty Rodgers). He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard Walker, and granddaughter Jennifer Sciacca.
Cremation has taken place and there will be no service per his wishes.
