Robert Walters Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Marnocha Funeral Home on Apr. 29, 2025.
Robert Walters Jr., of Morgan Wisconsin entered the gates of heaven with family at his side on Sunday, April 27, 2025, after suffering a stroke. Bob was born in Green Bay on May 17, 1950, to Florabelle Steber and Robert Walters, Sr. Growing up, he caddied at Oneida Golf and Riding and enjoyed telling stories of caddying for Vince Lombardi from time to time. He was a 1968 graduate of Premontre High School. Bob enlisted in the Wisconsin National Guard where he served for seven years.
Bob met his loving wife, Christine Allen of Little Suamico and they were married May 23, 1970. He initially started working in the armored car industry for his grandfather and father until 1970, at which time the business was sold to Purolator Armored. Bob took promotions, moving his family to Indianapolis, Indiana, Allentown, Pennsylvania, and Denver, Colorado. Colorado was their favorite place to reside and, along with their three young children, the family all learned to ski. In 1983, after 18 months, Bob moved his family back to Wisconsin to start his own armored car company, Waltco Inc. With the help of his wife and father-in-law, they built the business and built their first armored truck. On one occasion, Bob even got to take his son to the emergency room in an armored truck. Waltco Inc. grew into more than just an armored car service, but also into a package delivery system, servicing the upper Midwest. Bob made many sacrifices and worked many long hours to build his family business of over 40 years, which continues to service Green Bay and the surrounding areas. His wife and children will continue this legacy of which he was so proud.
Bob enjoyed playing golf with his friends and family and being part of the golf league at Sandalwood Golf Course. He loved grilling out on his deck for any family events and allowing us to special order our favorite steaks to desired temperature. He enjoyed cutting wood, and making maple syrup with his father-in-law, Doug, and brother-in-law, Tim, at Doug's sugar shack. After Doug "retired" the sugar shack, Bob continued this maple syrup tradition with his wife, children, and grandchildren on their own homestead. He loved to drive fast cars with the top down and all his toys in the shed, which he generously shared with his children. He also enjoyed going to many Packers games with family and friends. Bob was always ready to watch a good movie in the shed with anyone who would stop by to join him for a beer or three. He also recently started to raise beef steer with his son as a new hobby. Bob loved to go to basketball games, football games, dance recitals, soccer games, band concerts, and truck pulls anything that involved his grandchildren whom he adored.
Bob is survived by his wife of 54 years, Christine; two sons: Eric Walters, Ryan (Lisa) Walters, and daughter, Sara (Al) Rosina, all of Oconto Falls. He was most proud of his six grandchildren: Owen, Joey, Maddie, Ben, Taylor, and Laney. He is further survived by three sisters: Cynthia Cook and Sharon (Rob) Hendricks, both of Florida, and Jeanne (Mike) Meyer of Colorado, and a brother, Keith (Becki) Larsen of Green Bay; many nieces, nephews, and other family. A special thank you to his good friends who were always there to talk about the news.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Florabelle, his father, Robert, Sr., and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Douglas and Bartley Allen.
Our most sincere thanks go to the team of doctors and nurses at HSHS St. Vincent Hospital ICU in Green Bay for the care they provided for Bob, and the support they gave to family during this extremely sad time.
Friends are invited to gather with family at St. Casimir Church, 146 Park St., Krakow, on Saturday, May 10, from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 p.m. with Fr. Carmen Scuderi, O.F.M. presiding. Burial with military honors rendered by the Pulaski Area Veterans will follow in the church cemetery.
