In Loving Memory of Robert Preston Walters
I'm May 8, 1951 – October 31, 2025
Robert Preston Walters was born on May 8, 1951, and passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025. He grew up in Port Arthur, Texas, and proudly graduated from Lincoln Memorial High School in 1969. Following graduation, he went on to serve honorably in the United States Air Force, a reflection of his dedication and love for his country.
Robert later made his home in Houston, Texas, where he contributed greatly to the city through his 24 years of service with the Houston Metro Transportation System. His kindness, work ethic, and laughter touched everyone he encountered.
He was deeply loved by the Houston Swing Out Dance Community and cherished by the entire staff of the Veterans Affairs Hospital of Houston. Known for his bright smile and unforgettable sense of humor, Robert had a special way of bringing joy to every room he entered. His family and friends were his entire world and they will forever miss his laughter, his stories, and his jokes.
Robert was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Pete; his mother, Dorothy Anne Pete; and his brothers, Terry Edwards and Reginald Walters.
He leaves to honor his memory his brothers Donald Edwards, Darrell Edwards, and Casey Walters, along with a host of nieces and nephews who adored him. His nephews include Andrew, CJ, Cyrus, Sheldon, Darren, Terrance, Gregory, and Trey. His nieces include Heidi, Adrienne, Donna, Rayshaun, Shanisha, Crystal and Shawna, as well as his beloved great-nieces and nephews: Kayden, Alana, Maya, and Landon, Isaiah, Kylah, Tyler and Casey III.
Robert's life was one filled with love, laughter, music, and movement, a true reflection of the joy he brought to others. His laughter lingers in our hearts, like good music that never fades.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." Matthew 25:21
