Robert A. "Bob" Ward Jr.

1958 - 2023

Robert A. "Bob" Ward, Jr., age 64, of Sykesville, passed away on Friday, July 21, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. He was born on August 29, 1958, to Ileen (McBee) Ward and the late Robert A. Ward, Sr. of Jessup, Maryland. He was the loving husband of Judy B. Ward. Bob worked in the printing industry for many years. He was a devoted father to his two children. Known as "coach Bob" he had been active coaching their soccer and baseball teams through the years. He had a love for the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing and crabbing. Bob was an avid sports fan of the Baltimore Orioles and Ravens. He and his family also bred and raised beagles for many years. Bob was a genuinely good-hearted person who made friends of everyone he met. Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are son Justin R. Ward of Sykesville, daughter Lara A. Ward of Sykesville, sister and brother-in-law Linda and Rick Blanken of Acworth, GA and paternal grandmother Polly Ward of Warfordsburg, PA. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8pm on Tuesday, July 25, 2023, at Haight Funeral Home & Chapel, 6416 Sykesville Road, Sykesville. A celebration of life service will be held at 1pm on Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the funeral home. Please come comfortable and casual. Interment will be private.
