Funeral services for Robert Earl Ward, 83, will be held on Friday, October 20, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Mansfield, 943 Polk St., Mansfield, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Rev. Andrew Brewster. Burial will follow at O.E. Price Memorial Park Cemetery, 2601 Old Mansfield Rd., Logansport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside, 2500 Southside Dr. in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Robert was born on November 12, 1939 in Converse, Louisiana to Earl W. Ward and Helen M. Champion Ward and passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Robert graduated from Converse High School. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1967 as a SSgt. He worked for Kansas City Southern Railroad as an Engineer for 30 years. He loved taking road trips, especially to the mountains. Robert was compassionate, passive and a “gentle giant.” He loved his children and the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Helen Ward; sister Margaret Bissell; wives Mary B. Ward, and Marlene Norwood Ward. Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Pamela Ward Skinner; son, Robert Elec Ward; grandson, Nathan D. Skinner; stepsons, Keith Norwood, Ken Norwood and wife Twyla; stepdaughter, Kayla Orton and husband Phil; sister, Kay Henderson; brother, Morrell “Butt Cutt” Ward; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honoring Robert as pallbearers will be Nathan D. Skinner, Keith Norwood, Ken Norwood, John Henderson, Matt Ward, and Ebulon Springer.
