Bobby Watson has always been my hero. When I was 9 years old I fractured my leg. It was 3 months until Ardsley´s annual Halloween Parade and I was sure I could still be in it. Yet the day before the parade the doctor said the cast couldn´t be removed. I was devastated. I was outside crying when Bobby walked by and asked me what was wrong. I told him I couldn´t be in the parade and that my mother had spent months making the most beautiful costume.
Bobby was going to be Dracula and even painted his red wagon black.
The next morning the doorbell rang and it was Bobby! He said, "Nona, you can be in the Halloween parade. I´m going to pull you in my wagon...I even painted it white to match your costume." And guess what? We won 1st prize!
Even at a young age Bobby had the gift of turning people´s sadness to joy. I will
always remember his kindness. The world needs more kind hearts like his
Sending hugs and love to his precious family.
