Robert "Bob" Donavon Weerts, age 73, of Winnebago, MN, passed away peacefully on October 15th surrounded by his loving family. Known for his boundless generosity, infectious positivity, and the way he made everyone feel like an old friend, he leaves behind a legacy of love that will never fade.
Born on January 19, 1952, in Winnebago, MN to Donavon and Nadene, Robert grew up with a strong work ethic, a quick smile, and a heart open to everyone he met. From a young age, he believed in the power of hard work, kindness, and community – values that would guide him throughout his life.
A true entrepreneur at heart, Robert built and ran several successful companies over the years. His business ventures were not only a reflection of his ambition but of his desire to create opportunities for others. He treated every employee, client, and colleague with fairness and respect, and many who worked alongside him became lifelong friends.
But more than his career accomplishments, Robert was most proud of his family. He was a devoted husband to Jenifer for 52 wonderful years, a loving father to Elizabeth, Jonathan, and Daniel, and a proud grandfather to eight wonderful grandchildren. His family was his greatest joy, and his happiest moments were spend surrounded by them – whether sharing stories around the dinner table, cheering from the sidelines, or simply being together.
To his friends – and there were hundreds – Robert was a constant source of laughter, encouragement, and warmth. People often said he never met a stranger, and it was true: within moments of meeting him you felt like you'd known him forever. His optimism never wavered, and his generosity knew no limits. He gave freely of his time, his wisdom, and his heart.
Robert's legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, the friendships he nurtured, and the love he spread everywhere he went. His presence was gift, and his spirit will continue to shine brightly through those who were lucky enough to know him.
He is survived by his wife Jenifer Weerts, children Elizabeth (John) Schavey, Jonathan (Carol) Weerts, Taylor (Daniel) Weerts, his siblings Michael (Patricia) Weerts of Charlestown, Indiana, Barbara (Chuck) King of Tucson, Arizona, his grandchildren Luke (Jessica), Joseph, Adam, Donavon, Gabriela, Rhionna, William, and Amelia. He was preceded in death by his son Daniel (Taylor) Weerts, parents Nadene and Donavon Weerts, and in-laws Donald and Lavon Wendt.

To know Robert was to love him – and his love will stay with us always.
Bobby was a man of faith. His favorite scripture was John 5:24:
"Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life."
Oh, how thankful we are that we can rest on that promise of Eternal Life, and to know that we will see him again soon.
From a very young age, Bobby's life was deeply influenced by a great man of God in our day, Brother William Marion Branham. He believed with all his heart that Brother Branham was the Prophet for this Age, and through his ministry, Bobby came to truly know his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. One of Bobby's most treasured possessions was his Bible, where Brother Branham had personally written that very scripture verse and signed his name.
Bobby often said, "Everything happens for a reason." No matter the hour-day or midnight-he had a way of brightening a moment with his trademark greeting, "Good morning!" That simple gesture would often open the door for him to hand someone a "Have Faith" sticker he just happened to have in his pocket. Sharing hope and light was his passion.
He would often say, "You never know" it might instill someone's faith who's fighting a great battle," and "God works in mysterious ways." Those words, and the cheerful way he lived them, will be dearly missed. Another favorite saying of his was, "I'm not the driver; I'm just along for the ride." And truly, he trusted that all the way to the end.
