Amazing man who never once mentioned any of the accomplishments listed. Humble. He was always interested how you were and what you were doing. Will be missed tremendously. DS

I graduated from Stetson University in 1985 and was commissioned through the Army ROTC program there. I was not a good student or cadet. I was a less than average athlete. Col Weiss prepared you for what was then Advanced Camp. He would push you to do better. I sorry the world has lost him.

Bob was a mentor and fried to me for over 40 years. I first met him when I was assigned to his team at Fort Gordon, GA and our friendship has grown through the years since then. So many times he was there for memorable events that included performing a wedding service for my first wife and I as we had never had a formal wedding and then he performed the funeral service for my wife when she passed in 2008. He again performed a wedding service for me and my new bride, traveling from his home in New Smyrna to Atlanta in order to perform the ceremony. He also hired me to work with him when I retired from the Army in 1993 to manage the installation and operation of the county public safety radio newtwork. He has been an important and special person in my and my family´s lives and although he likely didn´t realize it, a critical link to my personal success and achievement in my life.
He was always giving and a true gentleman. One of the lighter sides of memory for me was an occasion when we traveled to Washington D.C. for a meeting with the Army Operational Test and Evaluation Agency. When we arrived at the hotel I waited for Bob to check in as he was a Colonel and I was a Captain so just common military courtesy to do. When I went to check in the desk clerk said they were out of regular rooms so he would have to give me a jacuzzi room. I remember Bob exclaiming, "a jacuzzi room" and I immediately offered to let him have it but he smiled and said, "no, you got it so enjoy it". I tried to convince him to take it but he would not hear of it. I guess he believed in the luck of the draw.
I will sorely miss Bob as he was one of the most honest and genuine people I´ve ever known. My deepest condolences to Hope and all their family members. As the obituary says, he is with Jesus. God bless you my friend and I will see you again.
