My family sends our sympathy to Barbara and the family. I did not know Robert in Jacksonville where we both grew up. We met and became friends at Howard U in the 1960's. We had a kindship that came from us both being devoted band members at our high schools. At Howard, many of us who were from Florida spent a lot of time together. Robert was a great wide receiver catching my passes playing flag football. He was an exceptionally fun person to be with. He had such a winning smile. One of my regrets as I have gotten older is that I did not stay in touch more with Robert and others. He was one of the best of "homeboys" from Jacksonville and a fine human being.
