Robert Williams Obituary

Robert George Williams
1950 - 2025
Robert G. Williams, Jr., 75, passed away unexpectedly on October 5, 2025, in Wilmington, North Carolina.
He was born on April 21, 1950, in Newburgh, New York. Robert graduated from Longmeadow High School in Longmeadow, Massachusetts, in 1968. He went on to attend Northern Colorado State College and later earned his degree from Northeastern University in Boston.
A man whose career and sense of adventure took him around the world, Robert lived and worked in places as far-reaching as Suriname and Saudi Arabia. He proudly served several years in the military and called many parts of the United States home, including New Hampshire, Illinois, Georgia, and Nevada, before settling in Wilmington, North Carolina, where he spent the past seven years with the love of his life, Susan Maddox.
Robert enjoyed hunting, skiing, and sharing coffee with his buddies at the local coffee shop. He loved to find a good bargain and was always up for a story and a laugh.
He is survived by his partner of 27 years, Susan Maddox; his siblings, Linda W. Blakeman and Gregory Allen Williams, and their spouses; as well as several nieces and nephews who will remember him with deep affection.
Robert will be remembered for his adventurous spirit, warm humor, and the joy he found in simple moments shared with those he loved. Details regarding services or memorial arrangements will be shared with family and friends at a later date.
Family and friends are invited to share memories, photos, and condolences on Robert's Tribute Wall at www.wilmingtoncares.com.
Funeral arrangements were trusted to Wilmington Funeral & Cremation - Wilmington Chapel, 1535 S. 41st Street Wilmington, NC 28403, (910) 791-9099.

I did not know Bob. But here is some memories. Greg Williams and Dennis Chalke walking to Center school together. They lived on the same street. Greg wearing Braces in junior High. Seeing Bob for the first time at the High school. Very Tall, skinny, button down shirt, khakis, and Bass Weejuns. Dark brown hair combed back. I was like 15. It was a special time , with special people, at that time. My prayers and thoughts are with all who knew and loved Bob. Thankyou... Jimmy Frank

Just a great all-around guy. Spent hours and hours on the phone with Bob every month. He was a knowledgeable person who could carry a conversation on just about any subject.
His death was shocking and sad. I´ll miss the marathon conversations with a good guy.
Godspeed, Bob
