Wilson Robert George It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert G. Wilson, age 81, who left us on March 21, 2025 at his home. Robert was born March 1, 1944 in Philadelphia, son of Carl and Maria 'Ruby' Wilson. He graduated from Frankford HS in 1962 and made a home in Philadelphia, working at the Bulletin and later the Philadelphia Inquirer, retiring in March 2007. He was a proud member of Local 628. Robert enjoyed many happy times at a family home in Pine Beach, NJ with his brothers and cousins. He loved to travel with wife Barbara, collecting postcards and memorabilia of favorite things including lighthouses, penguins, and moose. He hosted a large collection of family photos, albums and slides from years past. He was most of all a beloved brother, husband, uncle, cousin and friend with a great sense of humor and a contagious laugh. Robert was the devoted husband of the late Marilyn (nee Lecates) and Barbara (nee Bachmann). He was the brother of Carl D. Wilson and the late William J. Wilson (Susan). Robert is survived by brother-in-law Edward H. Bachmann III, niece Sandra Mack (Michael), nephew Thomas Wilson (Diane), great nieces/ nephews Beth Anne Fowler (Stephen), David Kyle (Kristen), Erin Kyle, Kelsey Kaiser (Matt), Angela Russo, Jessica Wilson (Matt), Dylan Wilson, Colin Wilson and great-great nieces/nephews Lydia, Elin, Loralei, and Adeline Fowler, Lilly and August Kyle, Griffin and Isabella Kaiser, Dominic and Noah Russo. Also many cousins on the Lamont side and wonderful friends. Robert is predeceased by Linda Wilson, William J. Wilson Jr. and his wife Allison, and Susan Kyle. Relatives and friends are invited to Robert's Visitation Monday, March 31, 11 A.M. to 12 noon at MANNAL FUNERAL HOME, 6925 Frankford Ave., (at Tyson). Graveside Service will follow at Lawnview Cemetery.
