Robert R. Wire

Wire, Robert R. "Bob" Darboy Age 80, passed away on Thursday morning, February 12, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, following a lengthy illness. He was born on February 29, 1928 in Newark, New Jersey, son of the late Russell and Edna Liebenow Wire. After schooling, Bob proudly served his country with the U.S. Coast Guard and with the U.S. Navy in WWII. After his time in the service, he married Elizabeth R. Bauernhuber at St. Antoninus Catholic Church in Newark. He was most recently a member of Holy Spirit Parish, Darboy. Bob will be remembered as a very easy-going people person who was generous and had a gift for making people laugh. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, traveling, and bird watching, especially ducks. He was an avid New York Giants and Green Bay Packers fan. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Betty; his son: Glenn Marian Wire, Appleton; grandchildren: Brian, Clare Trevor, Jonathan Ashley, Nicholas, and Laura; great grandchildren: Gabriel and Isaiah; brother: Wilbur Alicia Wire; as well as nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral liturgy will take place on Monday, February 16, 2009 at 12:00 Noon at Holy Spirit Parish, Darboy. Friends will be received at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of Mass.
