Robert C. Wright

Robert C. Wright, 91, of Pepperell, MA and longtime resident of Acton, MA, passed away peacefully at his home on December 30th, 2022.
Robert, fondly known as Bumpi to family and Bob to friends, was born to Esther Anderson and Charles Wright on October 19th, 1931, in Boston, MA. An automobile enthusiast from an early age, Bob could be found racing midget and stock cars in his youth with his father and friends. Shortly after graduating from Waltham High School, Bob took his passion for automobiles and transformed it into a successful career as the business owner of Wright's Exxon in Concord, MA and Main Street Service Centers in West Concord and Maynard, MA.
Bob is survived by his wife of seventy-one years, Jacqueline M. (Brown) Wright and three children, son Robert Wright & Susan Wright of Maynard, MA, daughter Gayle Lewis & Edward Amadon of Pepperell, MA, and daughter Robin Roche & John Roche of Moultonborough, NH. Additionally, he is survived by his eight grandchildren, Jenna Smith, Robby Wright, Ashley (Lewis) MacDonald and her husband Brian, Michael Lewis and his wife Heather, Stephen Lewis and his wife Sheilagh, Evan Roche, Brady Roche and wife Ines, and Trevor Roche. Furthermore, Bumpi is beloved by his three great-grandchildren, Aidan, Lila, and Grayson.
Aside from his love of automobiles, Bumpi was always happiest spending time with his family. With a "Hiya Joe," a drawn out "Whatever," or a subtle "Ho-hum," adventures with Bumpi and his sidekick Mimi were always simple, amusing, and pleasant. On any given day, Bumpi could be found perfecting his garden with his green thumb, tinkering on antique cars at his son's garage, enjoying the beaches of Cape Cod, or boating on Lake Winnipesaukee. When he wasn't busy attending a birthday, sporting event, school concert, graduation, or wedding, Bumpi appreciated a long car ride with good company, always on the hunt for lobster, but secretly happiest with a hot dog and his travel companions.
A visiting hour will be held in the McGaffigan Family Funeral Home, 37 Main St. (Rte. 113) Pepperell, MA on Friday, January 6th at 11 a.m. immediately followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. Burial will be private.
