We are saddened to announce the death of Robert (Bob) George Wright, 75, of Roseburg, Oregon. Bob passed away in the VA hospital in Roseburg on Friday, April 11, 2025 after a short stay. He was surrounded by his sweet daughter, wonderful lifelong friend Eligio (Jerry) White, and amazing caregivers.
Bob was born in Ogden, Utah, on October 5, 1949, to Marie Caroline Eilander (deceased) and Ray William Wright of Layton. He is survived by his 5 children: Jennifer Dowdle, Daniel Wright, Jordan Wright, Laurie Castonguay, and Melissa Erp. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren.
He served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War 1968 – 1971. He retired from the Ogden City Fire Department 1979 – 1999. He was hired as Fire Chief in Sandpoint Idaho 1999 – 2000. He then moved to Oregon in 2000 as a Fire Marshal until his retirement.
Bob will be missed by his children, grandchildren, father and stepmother, sisters, brothers, and friends.
The last few months Bob had the support and help from the VFW Commander and his amazing wife Dave and Val West, whom we owe a debt of gratitude to.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Brigham City Cemetery.
