On Sunday 8th June 2025 here in the UK I resolved to seek out an old work buddy from World Courier days in London in the early 1980,s . With no luck on Facebook I googled his name : Imagine my shock on finding his obituary after his untimely death May 25th , less than a month earlier .
Rob enriched our lives in the London office when he worked with us for a year or so . He and I became good friends , the photos posted are of us and my family during a visit to my parents who lived in Paris ( France ) at the time . We had many adventures on that trip : Taking the stairs down the Eiffel Tower ( Not for the faint hearted ) and climbing the flag pole atop the Notre Dame Cathedral are two that stick in my mind . We returned to the UK on the elderly Ferry in the picture unaware that we were in for 5 hours of hell in very stormy waters : We passed the time in the bar ( where else ) drinking beer and listening to the Grateful Dead on repeat whilst all manner of liquids , glass and debris slid past us . I developed a lifelong love of the sea that day , Rob was less keen . God moves in mysterious ways .
Rob,s parents returned the compliment and I visited the house in Connecticut whilst on an exchange work trip with World Courier . Subsequently , Rob left for home , I left World Courier and with no email service we lost touch . So pleased to have been a small part of Rob and Jane,s journey in life , both taken far too soon . God Speed . Andrew Collins.

What a beautifully written, spot-on tribute to this wonderful man. Ross and I are deeply saddened by his passing but are eternally grateful that our paths intersected so many years ago - Bear was an excellent matchmaker. He shared his joy of living with everyone and we are the better for having known him.

The world lost a little bit of its light and humor when Robb passed. He was the consummate professional and the definition of a servant leader. He always started a conversation with how is your family because he wanted the opportunity to talk about his family. He was immensely proud of his family. I will always have fond memories of our Saturday´s in the office with our dogs! Rest in Peace.

Sending my prayers and condolences to those who loved Robert so deeply. I especially lift up Sarah& Meaghan whose last five years are marked by loss of their mother, grandfather and now their father, Rob who adored them. His resilient spirit and gratefulness for life was obvious. I am deeply sorry to hear of his death and hope the memories of his buoyancy in life brings his daughters and all who loved Rob a unique strength & peace.
