Robert Yu

My heart is breaking and I feel so honored to have known this gentle kind man that was a hero in my eyes for 20+ years. His and Helen's friendship meant the World to me and I will treasure those memories forever.

Bob was a dear friend and colleague; I owe him more than I could ever repay. My deepest condolences to Helen, David and Jennifer.

My deepest condolences to the Yu family. Bob made me feel part of the ASN family the very first time I attended. His was kind, soft-spoken, wickedly intelligent and had a wonderful sense of humor. His legacy will live on in those who knew him, worked with him and loved him.

Bob was an outstanding Glycoconjugate scientist with prime interest in Glycosphingolipids and was well known for his contribution to the field of Biochemistry and Neuroscience. I had the opportunity to become a team member at the Augusta University, then called MCG where I served from 2002 until 2014 as a Senior Scientist. His encouragement and inspiration to excel in the scientific contribution is always remembered. With our prayer for the rest of departed soul and the strength and courage for all family members to bear the loss.

I am sorry to hear of Bob's passing. He was a wonderful mentor, friend and person. Science needs more like him, as does the world. I feel privileged to have worked with him and been part if his Yale lab.
