Roberta Lynn Brewer was born on October 5, 1957, in Evansville, Indiana, to the late Robert Brewer, Sr., and Myrtle Brewer. On Friday, November 7, 2025, she peacefully transitioned at the Linda E. White Hospice Center.
Roberta graduated from North High School in 1975. She accepted Christ at an early age at Cleaves Memorial CME Church, where she faithfully served for many years until her illness prevented her from doing so. She was an active missionary, a dedicated member of the culinary team, and a proud participant in the Cleaves Chorus. Roberta also served with grace and devotion as a Stewardess at the local, district, and annual conference levels—joyfully ministering at the Lord’s table and extending compassion to both her church and community.
Her commitment to service extended beyond the church walls. Roberta was a vital part of the Cleaves Clothes Closet ministry and actively supported CAJE (Congregations Acting for Justice & Empowerment). She retired from Pearl Laundry after over 15 years of dedicated service. Above all, Roberta devoted her life to her beloved son, Marco Johnson.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Debra Jordan and Barbara Brewer; and her brother, James Teasley.
She is survived by her son, Marco Johnson; brothers, Robert, Timothy, Wayne, and Thomas Brewer; special friend, Bernadette Stuart; and many loving relatives and friends.
