Roberta Marks Brown, 94, of Madisonville, KY, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025.

She was born on March 21, 1931, in Poole, KY, to the late Ona Poole Marks and Howard R. Marks. She loved playing the piano, socializing, bird watching, and gardening. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren. Roberta was a member of First Christian Church and a former member of First Baptist Church of Madisonville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of sixty-eight and a half years, Thomas Reid Brown; son, Eric Wayne Brown, brothers, John Marks, H.R. Marks, Tommy Marks, and Ronnie Marks; and her sister, Rachel Gardener.

Her survivors include her children, Thomas Reid Brown II of Petersburg, VA, Barbara A. Brown-Meeks of Leitchfield, KY, and Derek Howard Brown of Chattanooga, TN; sister-in-law, Jane Hudson Marks of Providence, KY; grandchildren, Kathryn Jones, Thomas Reid (Michelle) Brown III, Emily (Trevor Johnson) Dixon Brown, and Joseph (Rachel) Reid Brown; great-grandchildren, Lorenzo, Jacob Reid, and Ava Grace; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, November 17, 2025, in the chapel of Harris Funeral Home with Rev. Kara Foster officiating. A private burial will be held at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour on Monday at the funeral home.

Roberta's family truly appreciates the love and care given by her family of staff, friends, and caregivers at Oak Ridge Senior Living in Madisonville.

Memorial contributions may be made in Roberta's memory to the First Christian Church Outreach Fund, 1030 College Drive, Madisonville, KY 42431 or envelopes will also be available at the funeral home.
