Roberta DeVuono (née Krueger) passed away peacefully September 12, 2025, in Plano, Texas. Roberta spent her early life in Chicago where she grew up with siblings Evelyn and Jerry on Ohio Street. Roberta met King "Peter" at the University of Illinois Teachers College on Navy Pier following his service as a Marine during the Korean War. They moved to Arlington Heights and their marriage spanned nearly seven decades. Her parents, Jim and Anne, along with her in-laws, Peter and Tessie, enjoyed holidays and vacations together. She loved her children, Carey, Susan, Richard (wife, Lora), and Becky (husband, Rick); and her grandchildren, Lauren, Danny, Tommy, Tally, Raymond, Jack, Mark, and Geoffrey. She was also the proud great-grandmother of Jade, Tyler, Carlie, and Tessa. She dedicated herself to family and to education as a primary school teacher. When not with family, she explored bird watching and stargazing and was always content reading a mystery, watching a cooking show, or taking on crossword puzzles. Her family is grateful that Roberta enjoyed a beautiful celebration with extended family for her 90th birthday in June. She will be missed by all who knew her. A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Highway, Park Ridge from 10:00 a.m. until time of Chapel Service 11:00 a.m. Service will be livestreamed (link will be posted on Monday). Interment Acacia Park Cemetery. Memorial Donations can be made to the Disabled American Veterans, help.dav.org. For funeral info 708-F-U-N-E-R-A-L.
