Roberta Lynne (Herrell) Gray, 60, of Peoria, Arizona (previously from Manassas, VA) went to be with our Lord on November 16, 2025 after a brave battle with brain cancer. True to her nature, she met her illness with strength, humor, and an unwavering faith in God, living the same resilience she carried throughout her life.
Roberta was born on Thanksgiving day, November 25, 1964, the youngest of eight children born to Robert C. and Frances E. (Kirby) Herrell of the Plains, VA. Roberta relocated from Manassas, VA, to Arizona in 2014 after the love of her life Husband of 31 years, Richard (Rick) Gray, Sr. passed away in 2012. Rick and Roberta created a family, a son (Rich), daughter (Crystal) and then granddaughter (Hailey) and great grandson (Elijah), and filled their lives with love, family time and adventures.
After leaving Virginia, Roberta fully embraced the Arizona landscape, loving the cactus, the red rocks, watching the wild burros, and the hummingbirds and chickadees that visited her every day. She was a life-long animal lover having many pets during her lifetime. Her most recent love was her foster fail rescue dog Vivian. She met and made many dear friends at her Lake Pleasant home with her loving, supportive companion Ken Wilson.
Roberta loved traditional old country and gospel music, traveling, cruises, playing card games and casinos. Those who knew her will miss her quick laugh, sense of humor and teasing nature.
