Roberta Jane Kuzawski, age 68, of Pownal, Vermont passed away Sunday, January 12, 2025 after a long illness. She was born December 30, 1956, in Bennington, VT, daughter to the late Jaskia Lillian (Tifft) Bourn and Robert Stanley Bourn.
Bert, as she was lovingly known, was preceded in death by her soulmate and husband of 39 years, Robert Kuzawski. Bert's children and many who knew her often say she was the strongest woman they'd ever known. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is now at peace, and that Bob and she have been reunited and are watching over their family together.
After receiving her education in Bennington, Bert was a seamstress at CB Sports, and also managed several convenience stores in town before starting her family. Her main interest was her family, and Bert often considered them her greatest achievement. Other interests include crochet, bingo, playing cards with friends, crafting, and bowling - having scored multiple 300s in her younger years.
Bert is survived by her seven children: Danny Gordon (Michelle), Celisa Pratt (Larry), Dennis Pratt, Bobbi-Jean Kuzawski (Chevaughn), Joshua Kuzawski (Amy), Justin Kuzawski (Desiree), and Toni Kuzawski (Todd); 21 grandchildren: Cody, Austin, Bailey, Dakota, Kaidin, Keana, Kendra (Warren), Kaila, Kailynn, Karrolinn, Knaudia, D'Angelo, Kahlani, Wyatt, Annabelle, Lily, Noah, Ivy, Hunter, Remi and Josie; one great-grandchild Warren; and her three siblings: Margaret Tobin, Robert Bourn, and Marvin Bourn (Jeanne). She leaves many other family members and close friends who will sadly miss her.
Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours on Friday, January 17, 2025, at Mahar Funeral Home in Bennington from 11:00-12:00 pm. A memorial service will follow as an opportunity for those gathered to share memories and stories. A celebration of life will follow at the Elks Lodge in Bennington.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to: Fundraiser by Toni Kuzawski : Help Us Give Our Mother a Beautiful Farewell.
