Roberta Ann Wright (née Boyd), age 83, passed away on January 6, 2026, in Kingfisher, Oklahoma. She was born on September 2, 1942, in Tipton, Oklahoma, to Robert and Pauline Boyd (née Purdy).
Roberta attended Tipton High School, where she graduated in 1960. That same year, on June 4, she married the love of her life, Kenneth Leon Wright. Together they made their home on a farm southeast of Tipton, where they built a life rooted in faith, family, and community.
Roberta was known for her strength and kindness. She was a devoted member of the Tipton Church of Christ, where she also taught Sunday School. She was active in the Delphian and Circle Clubs and enjoyed working part-time at The Flower Shop, where she treasured the friendships she made.
She loved country music and attending weekly community concerts. Her hobbies included decorating her home, coloring, arts and crafts, and solving word puzzles. Many fond memories were made riding in the car with music playing, often stopping for A&W root beer floats. Above all, Roberta’s greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Roberta was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her brother, Lynn Boyd of Lubbock, Texas.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Leon Wright; her brothers, Wayne Boyd (Linda) of Edmond, Oklahoma, and Alan Boyd (Susie) of Tipton, Oklahoma; her daughters, Leann Lay of Orlando, Florida and Tamra Gonzalez (Mike) of Watonga, Oklahoma; her grandchildren Monica Thayer (Matt), Zach Lay (Jordan), Nicholas Lay, Hugh Gonzalez, Justin Gonzalez (Ashley), and Ashley Rodriguez (Victor). She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Roberta requested cremation and no funeral services. She will be laid to rest at Tipton Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tipton Children’s Home, P.O. Box 370, Tipton, Oklahoma 73570.
Roberta Ann Wright will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. Her kindness, faith, and the many beautiful memories she shared will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
