Roberto (Bobby) Rolando Garza was called upon by the Lord on Friday, February 20, 2026 at the golden age of 85. He was born on August 7th, 1940, in McAllen TX in the Rio Grande Valley to Jose T. Garza and Antonia Briceno Garza. He graduated from McAllen HS and went on to achieve a bachelor's degree in business, attending UCLA and Pan Am University. Robert started working for National and local development support organizations such as System Development Corporation in Los Angeles CA, and Associated City County Economic Development Corporation (ACCEDC) in Edinburg TX. Robert found his calling back in Texas and had a distinguished career as a Manager in HR/ Personnel spanning decades, culminating in his retirement from Levis-Strauss & Co. He then dedicated his time to his cherished passion of training and racing horses.

He is reuniting with his Parents and is preceded in Death by his Wife Terry, their son Jayson, his 1st Wife Evangelina, and Grandchildren Ashton Dylan Massie & Julia Rose Garza. Predeceased family include brothers Jose & wife Joan, Raul & wife Alma, his brother Rudy & nephew Ben.

Roberto is survived by his children Anna Marie Massie-Gonzalez (Mark), Sylvia Anne Nino (Fernando), Anthony Rolando Garza (Anna), & Yvette Garza; grandchildren Michael Garza (Heather Franco), Matthew Garza, Derek Fuentes (Mariah Acosta), Jacob Fuentes, Aiden Massie, Kaleb Nino, Ashlynn Massie, Addison Massie and Mateo Gonzalez; his great grandchildren Ezekiel Garza, Ezra, & Aria Garza; Sister Rosa Linda Lopez, her husband Ben; as well as nieces and nephews in both Texas and California.

Roberto had the blessing of being a Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather. He was an Uncle and a friend to many. Roberto was an avid racehorse trainer and liked to be referred to as 'The Horseman', experiencing the full spectrum of both triumph and loss.

He will be missed here on Earth but welcomed in the Great Winner's Circle in the sky.

Memorial Service will be Held Saturday March 7th 11:00am
