Roberto and Mariana Perez, both of Cedar Creek, passed in February 2022. Roberto Perez, age 87, born in Austin, TX, passed on Feb 15, 2022, and 5 days later his beloved wife Mariana Armonta Perez, age 85, born in Bryan, TX, was called home on Feb 20, 2022. Roberto was a hard-working husband and father who provided for his family. Roberto made it only to the 7th grade, while Mariana had no education. However, that didn't stop them. Roberto and Mariana had been married for 63 years and raised 8 kids and 3 grandchildren as their own. Roberto provided for his family by driving 18 wheelers around the country. Not long after, he decided to start his own business, Roberto's Radiator Works in East Austin, for 30 years. He was also the owner of The Golden Nugget club on FM973 for 2 years. After retiring from his business he worked as a cross guard for T. A. Brown, the best school in town, just to be closer to his grandchildren. Roberto Perez was a strong man who survived open-heart surgery, aneurysm, stroke, and cancer. His body was too weak to handle his last surgery along with Covid. Mariana passed away of a broken heart. She was known for being a beloved wife and mother. She was a stay-at-home mom who loved to cook. No matter what, her front door was always open to any family member and friends. Although she was a tough and strong woman, she also had a soft side to her that not many people saw. Roberto and Mariana were both members of the Basilica of Our Lady of San Juan Del Valle. You would never see one without the other. They lived a long and beautiful life traveling and playing bingo. You would always find them drinking their coffee on the porch of their house they built 50 years ago in the St. Johns neighborhood aka THE BLOCK!!
