Roberto Rivas Obituary
Roberto Rivas, 77, entered into eternal rest at home surrounded by his family on November 9, 2023. He was born in Anthony, TX in 1946 to Sabino Rivas and Delfina Jimenez. Roberto Joined the United States Marine Corps in June 1965 and proudly served his country in the Vietnam War. He then moved on to work for Canutillo ISD where he retired in 2005.
Roberto is preceded in death by his parents; Sabino Rivas and Delfina Jimenez, his brother, Francisco Rivas, and his sister, Elizabeth Hernandez. He is survived by his children; Jorge A. Hernandez, Maria Hernandez, Lorena Rivas, and Sara Rivas Sanchez, his siblings; Guillermo Rivas, Margaret Gonzalez, and Josie Borjas, as well as his grandchildren; Rebecca Hernandez, Ashley Tovar, Robert Rivas, Lydia Sanchez, Quincy Romero, Victoria Hernandez, Jorge Hernandez Jr., and Isai Hernandez. He is also survived by many extended friends and family to cherish and honor his memory.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00pm to 9:00pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023 with a Prayer Service to commence at 7:00pm, at Sunset Funeral Homes-West. A Graveside Service will follow at 10:00am on Friday, November 17, 2023 at Fort Bliss National Cemetery; 5200 Fred Wilson Ave, El Paso, TX 79906.
