Robin Marie Allen, 68, of Pompton Plains, passed away peacefully at home on February 13, 2023 after a long illness. Robin was born and raised in Clifton, NJ and married Michael Allen. The couple settled in Pompton Plains and raised two children.
She graduated from Boston University in 1974 and later received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from UMDNJ in 2003. Robin was an exceptional Pediatric Physical Therapist working in Early Intervention for many years. She loved her patients and they loved her. She always put her heart and soul into her work.
Robin loved to spend time at the beach, no matter the season. She especially enjoyed hunting for seashells, reading with her favorite drink in hand and relaxing in her beach chair.
She was a loving and devoted grandmother to her eight grandchildren; affectionately known as Mom-mom. She enjoyed swimming with them, building sand castles and her yearly tradition of making Christmas cookies. She was dearly beloved and will be greatly missed by each one of them.
Robin is survived by her husband Michael Allen, her son Matthew Allen, her daughter Laura Mahon, eight beautiful grandchildren and hundreds of children she helped throughout the years.
Visiting hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm Friday, February 17 at the M. John Scanlan Funeral Home, Pompton Plains. A funeral service will be held 10 am Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Valley Hospice would be greatly appreciated by her family.
