Robin Ann Dodd

On August 23rd, 1962, ROBIN ANN (BRENNEMAN) DODD came into the world with her fiery red hair and larger than life personality. She peacefully passed away in the early morning hours on Sunday, November 30th, 2025. She was the oldest of three children from Edward and Helen Brenneman and is survived by her sister, Kim, and brother, Mark.
As a military brat, she moved all over with her family. From being a gymnast in California, to living in Guantanamo Bay, she finally landed in West Virginia and completed her schooling at Fairmont State University, where she gained a degree in elementary education. Her degree went hand in hand with her love for children, as she became a daycare teacher. This then transpired into her career of writing grants for children and young adults in underprivileged situations.
During her time living in West Virginia, she met her now husband, John Dodd. The two were inseparable and their love was evident. Together, they had a son, Jonathan Ian Dodd, who was their world. Robin loved Ian with every fiber of her being. Everything she did was for his benefit and so that he could live the best life possible. Everyday of her life she spread love and kindness. Not only was she the best mother to Ian, but was also a mother to all children in her life. Holly (her god daughter), Jakob, Zachary, Alex (her god son), Gavin, Derek, David, Lauren, and Kyle were an extension of her love, and she thought of them as her own. At every moment possible, she told them how much she loved them and how proud she was of them.
Robin lived a life where she constantly put others before herself and always wanted more for others. Deanne Weatherford, godmother to Ian Dodd, and Michele Maher, were practically sisters to Robin. They always had each other's backs, and always looked out for each other's children. Even through life's challenges, love always brought them back together.
Robin was loved by many and gave love to all. She is remembered as someone who fought deeply for children and young adults to break the chain of poverty and find success, as well as always finding joy in situations. Most importantly, she loved her husband and son, and all the children that were in her life. They were everything to her and wanted nothing more than for them to be successful and make a difference in the world.
When remembering Robin, always think of her beautiful red hair, fabulous sense of fashion, love for animals, love for those closest to her, and having the biggest heart one could have. She is deeply missed, but loved by all who knew her.
Rather than sending flowers, if able, please make a donation to Little Paws of Mt. Vernon, Il to help animals in need. Robin had a special connection to fur babies, especially Minky, Chance, Zeus, and her beloved baby Blaze. This is how Robin would've wanted to give back.
