Robin Koppel Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory - Bartlesville on Apr. 27, 2024.
Robin Gaston Koppel, 88, of Bartlesville, OK passed away on April 23, 2024. She was born on May 6, 1935 in Pampa, Texas to Wayne Richmond Gaston and Thelma Inez Gaston.
Robin grew up in Los Angeles during the time that every mother styled their daughter's hair in ringlets (like Shirley Temples). Just like the thousands of mothers, that were hoping their daughter would be the next Shirley Temple, her mother enrolled her in the dance studio that Shirley Temple had attended and took her to auditions. But alas we know how that turned out.
True to her bird name, she was a nest maker. The Nest she built was warm, full of love, hugs, laughter, joy, fun, adventure, sharing, comfort, support, guidance, encouragement, security, and fabulous meals. I have pictures to prove how good her food was. She truly loved cooking for her family.
God knew what he was doing when he brought Robin from LA and Hilary from Greece to form a family with Don in Bartlesville.
Our family was not perfect but we were perfect for each other. One of my favorite memories was listening to my parents laughter when they were having coffee in the morning together or watching TV late at night.
I often told her that she gave me my heart. She truly was a lovely, great and generous woman.
Robin was an avid reader with varied interests from a shell seeker, to being a rockhound, genealogy, and all things in between.
She appreciated the beauty in the world; the arts, ballet, and professional ice skating.
At 82 years old she attended her first concert which was Bruno Mars.
She was an avid football and NASCAR fan. Dale Earnhardt was her driver. The Kansas City Chiefs was her team and Patrick Mahomes was her quarterback.
She was looking forward to watching the Olympics and Snoop Dogs narration.
She loved her three cats and they absolutely adored her. She was deeply loved and will be missed tremendously.
Thank you to her family, friends, compassionate caregivers at St. John's Ascension, Ignite, EMTs, and Firemen.
Please join us on Monday May 6th, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM to celebrate her life and her birthday at Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.
