She worked on many memorable issues, including Love Canal, the passage of Superfund legislation, and countless other cases that shaped the way we understand our impacts on the environment, and the consequences of those actions on all living creatures. She earned numerous awards and commendations for her important work over her 32 years at EPA, and made lasting connections and friendships as she earned the deep respect of her colleagues.
Robin always had a strong dedication to her family and friends, ensuring everyone was cared for in a multitude of ways. Her kindness and generosity are what she will be most remembered for. She loved nature, and spent countless hours creating beautiful spaces in her gardens, where she would watch the woodland creatures and marvel at the beauty and the antics of them all. She was a nurturing soul, always striving to make the world a better and kinder place for all.
Robin lived most of her adult life in the Parkfairfax community in Alexandria, where she was a vibrant and engaged community member, friend, and neighbor to many. She served on the Board and several committees for many years, always striving to create a better community and addressing all concerns. Her fierce passion for ethics and justice, built on her foundation of kindness and generosity, made her an amazing advocate and leader.
Robin was always curious and interested in the world, a firm believer in intellectual and political engagement, continually learning and working to understand different experiences and perspectives. She loved to travel, both within the US and globally and was always thrilled to experience new cultures and learn new languages. She loved the arts, especially music, and played the piano beautifully.
