Robyn Clyde Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Simplicity: Lowcountry Cremation and Burial Services - Ladson on Jan. 26, 2026.
Robyn Eileen Dermady Clyde departed this earth on Tuesday January 20, 2026. Robyn was born on July 22, 1956 in Copiague, New York. Daughter of June K Dermady and Edward M Dermady.

Robyn married her high school sweetheart, Dexter Clyde on September 20, 1975, they shared 50 years of unwavering devotion. Robyn was a loving mother to her two children, Marie C Phillips (James) and Patrick W Clyde (Angela). Robyn's greatest joy came from her two grandchildren, Jamie M Phillips and James C Phillips III.

Throughout her life, Robyn served her community with dedication and enthusiasm. In the 80's she was a cub scout leader with Boy Scouts of America and the spirited "Team Mother" for four years of T-Ball with the Summerville YMCA. In the 90's she became an active member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3433 Ladies Auxiliary and MOCA, serving two terms as Ladies Auxiliary President. Her commitment to Veterans, families and community service was heartfelt and unwavering.

Robyn was also a member of her beloved ladies BUNKO group where she found joy, friendship and laughter during their monthly gatherings. Robyn loved to travel. Robyn was a faithful member of Beacon Freewill Baptist Church. Those who knew Robyn will remember her for her adventurous spirit, she never turned down a dare no matter how bold or silly. Her courage and humor became legendary among family and friends. She was affectionally known as "Auntie Robyn", " Mom Clyde" and "Mrs. Robyn"; names that reflected the love she poured into everyone she met.

Robyn is survived by her Husband, Dexter; her Children Marie (James), Patrick (Angela), her grandchildren Jamie and James; her sister Colleen Pelloni and Brother Bryan Dermady. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and June Dermady; Brother Timothy Dermady and Sister Joann Perritte.

Robyn had a loving heart even when it carried quiet burdens--and a warrior's spirit that never dimmed. She loved God, her family, her Country and her Community. Her hugs brought comfort, her smile brought joy. The stories one leaves behind are countless and the love she gave will echo for generations. She LOVED, she LAUGHED and she PRAYED.

A celebration of life will be held on a later date at Beacon Freewill Baptist church.

I was so sorry to learn of the passing of Robyn. Although I only knew her for a very short time, I enjoyed the socializing that we did have. She was so funny and welcoming. I know that she will be a wonder greeter in heaven
