Rocky Sutton Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck Funeral Home in Austin/Round Rock on Sep. 13, 2022.
Rocky Ralph Sutton
Loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Christian, Friend, and student of human moves. Rocky went to be with his Lord unexpectedly on September 6th, 2022 in Haines City, Florida. Rocky was born in Houston, Texas on October 29th, 1946 at 3:33PM to Charley Lee Sutton and Tressie Pauline Shannon.
Rocky worked for many years as a computer systems programmer for Exxon Petroleum. He established himself in the trade of a locksmith for many years. Rocky was an entrepreneur most of his life and started and sold many different businesses; from vending machines, many billiard halls, enzyme/ supplement production, precious metals trading, and locksmithing. He found his true passion in his work as a boat captain working for Walt Disney World. He was a man of many talents and an autodidact of many fields but excelled in billiards, geology, history, fishing, and gaming. He was the best friend that anybody could ever have, especially if you had a cue stick or a fishing pole. Rocky was a virtuous man who practiced what he preached, always kept his word, and was a good and kind example to all who took the time to know him; one who practiced piety, wisdom, courage, temperance, and justice.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lee and Polly Sutton and grandparents Bud "Poppo" Shannon and Mabel "Mammo" Smith. He is survived by his wife of 41 1/2 years Rhetta Elizabeth Sutton; 2 children: son, Forrest L. Sutton of Austin, Texas; son, Shannon and Lori Sutton of Ruckersville, Virginia; grandchildren Keegan and Seanna Sutton; cousins, countless friends, and many pets.
"From the rocking of the cradle to the rolling of the Hearse the going up was worth the coming down."
