I had the pleasure of working with Rod when I first started in the simulation industry. We were working on solutions I believed saved lives of countless Soldiers. Rod thank you

I met Rod a few years ago at the World Boardgaming Championships in PA. He was always very upbeat, friendly, very competitive, and a very worthy, humble, and gracious opponent. I always enjoyed his company before, during, and after the game.

In these difficult times, Rod Coffey made things simple. He was a man whose faith made him a leader not only for those in the Army, but families surrounding those men and women. He is respected, admired, and loved. As a representative of Todd Edward Davis, I will always be grateful that he was there to learn from and lean against. My deep and profound regard to those he leaves behind. We will never forget.

I got to know Rod Coffey in the last year through the men he served with on Walk of Life. Right away I could see Rod's outstanding leadership and his passion and concern for his men and their families. Although I was not a part of the army or his unit Rod was very good to me and always made me feel like a part of his family. When I last spoke to Rod in August 2018 he agreed to attend the veterans classroom visit at my school. He would have been a great source of inspiration to the students. Colonel Coffey was a great source of inspiration to me. I am deeply saddened by his loss, but his heroism and his principled life will live on eternally. Job well done. Your course on Earth is run. Be Thou At Peace.

So sorry for your loss. Our son SFC Matthew Pionk served with Rod. Matt was KIA in Iraq in 2008. Matt loved Rod and mentioned him frequently to us. Matt said he was a great and highly respected leader. I had the pleasure of meeting Rod at San Antonio last January for the 10 year Angelversary of our heroes. He gave us great words in a beautiful speech. He had such great knowledge of world events. It was a pleasure talking to him. God Bless him and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in Peace. We pray for peace for the Coffey and God Bless . Sandy and Duane Pionk

Rod was as splendid a man as I have known teaching some four decades at the seminary at Emmitsburg. Reconnected over a year ago. He was a man of profound depth and commitment. I treasure the religious poetry he authored and shared. Requiescat in Pace !
