Rodger Bunnell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bunnell Funeral Home Inc - Millville on Oct. 1, 2025.
Rodger T. Bunnell, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025, at his daughters home. He was born on October 6, 1956, in St. Mary's, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Theodore R. and Betty "Tish" (Keller) Bunnell. Rodger's life was a testament to his kind, generous, and passionate nature. His 68 years on this earth were marked by love, dedication, and service to his family and community.
Rodger was the beloved husband of Grace Barrett Bunnell, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. Together, they raised a family of four children: Ted Bunnell of Orangeville, Beth Reed and husband Eric of Trout Run, Courtney Arnold and husband Steven of Fort Dix, New Jersey, and Helen Starr and husband Jason of Millville. His nine grandchildren, Hailey, Logan, Connor, Cole, Noah, Lyla, McKenzie, Delainey, and Easton, brought him immeasurable joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them. As well as Rodger's dear brother, John Bunnell and wife Patty of Cartersville, GA, and sisters, Betty Bunnell of Austin, TX, and Pam Venner of Laconia, NH.
Rodger's educational journey began at Towanda High School, where he graduated in 1975. His pursuit of professional knowledge led him to Worsham Mortuary School, from which he graduated in 1980. His career took a significant turn when he moved to Millville in 1981. Rodger joined forces with Marvin Poust at Poust Funeral Home, and in 1984, he took the helm of the business, renaming it Bunnell Funeral Home Inc. His dedication to his profession was evident in the compassionate services he provided to the community during their times of loss.
A lifetime member of the Millville Fire Co., Rodger's commitment to public service was unwavering. He was also a proud founding member of The Millville Lions Club and a respected member of the Oriental Lodge 460. His involvement in these associations reflected his belief in the power of community and his desire to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
Rodger's interests outside of work included farming and making hay. The pride and contentment he felt watching his grandchildren engage in activities they loved were unmatched. Their laughter and achievements were the highlights of his days, and he supported them with an enthusiasm that only a doting grandfather could possess.
Services will be Tuesday October 7, 2025 at 11:00 am at the Bunnell Funeral Home Inc., 179 E. Main St., Millville with Pastor Robert Strozyk and Pastor Mark Messner officiating. Burial will follow at Millville Cemetery. Family will receive friends Monday October 6, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.

My heartfelt condolences to Helen and to all the family of Roger. I´m the driver for the company that has been picking up the bio waste from the funeral home for many years and Roger was more than just a client. He was a generous, kind hearted, friendly man and I was very fortunate to get to know him. We had a lot of great conversations and shared more than a few stories. He at times gave me much needed advice and I will miss him but I do hope to see him again when it´s time to go to my heavenly home. May the Lord bless all of you during this sad, difficult time. Sincerely with much love, Rick Bezek
