I am very late to this party. I had Mr. BRITO for science class for less than a full school year before my family moved again. I remember that he sparked an innate understanding of chemistry in me at 12/13 years old. I am 64 now! After we moved... no other teacher was able to create that magical connection of science for me, so I chose other paths. I have had a very successful career outside of science... although I began learning more about physics and astronomy as a "hobby" since I was 21. I am certain, had I not moved, Mr. Brito would have pressed me forward into a career in science. I am glad I finally found him, at least, in the digital world. Although I had hoped to thank him personally for understanding the mind of an adolescent who was so curious about the universe around us! At least I can do it here.... symbolically and posthumously ! Thank you, Mr. Brito

Sitting here in my classroom waiting for my students to finish their midterms, my mind wandered to my own middle school days as it often does. Today, I decided to look up some of the teachers of my Clayton school days. I often think of Mr. Brito and the immense impact he had on my adolescence and my teaching career. I was blessed to be his student and honored to be his colleague. He was the epitome of an urbane gentleman. I learned so much from him in many ways. I know this is late, but my deepest condolences to your family. May you be comforted by knowing how he lives on in those who were lucky enough to know him.

Mr. Brito, you one of my favorite teachers ! I will always remember your welcoming smile, your stories about India , especially the ghost stories , and how you played Cricket with a wicket . But most of all how great a teacher you were . You always presented yourself well to the class. And took the time to explain things to those that didn't understand . Rest In Peace Mr. Brito your gone but not forgotten .

Mr. Brito, you will b remembered as a quiet, kind sweet man. Though it has been over 45 years since I was in middle school, you were never forgotten. Prayers to your family. May they know that the world was a better place because you were in it. God bless. May you Rest In Peace.
