Rodney J. Denny

Rodney J. Denny, age 74, of Chillicothe, passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Rodney was born on February 24, 1950 in Peoria, IL to John William and Margaret Luella (Jordan) Denny. He married Cindy L. Kolimas on February 24, 1994 in Galena, IL.
Surviving are his wife, Cindy; his children, Cari (Mark) Doolin of Lincoln, IL, Emily (Dan) Conner-Znaniecki of Spring Valley, IL, Shennon (Rodney) Randall of Chillicothe, IL and Shane Hudson of Chillicothe, IL; his grandchildren, Johnathan Denny, Dannie Sarver, Lyle Conner, Hope Simmons, Gavin Conner, Krista Fandel, Andrew Wagle and Anna Karch; his great-grandchildren whom he was close to, Kylee Jarvis, Ashton Cherry, Bentley Farmer, Brynlee Karch, Paislee Wagle, Kason Karch, Aubreyann Wagle, Easton Wagle and Jasper Denny; his siblings, Mary Denny of Chillicothe, IL, Jackie Jordan of Chillicothe, IL, Colleen Gipson of Georgia; Jerry (Barbara) Denny of Prairie Dusac, WI and Warren Denny; many nieces and nephews; and a special nephew whom he was close to, Braxton Denny. He was preceded in death by his parents; his great-grandson, Kaleb Cherry; his brother, Jeff Denny; and his sisters, Kathy, Margaret and LuLu.
Rodney was a "jack of all trades" and did a lot of maintenance work for different entities. He was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church in Chillicothe and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Rodney also loved aquariums, saltwater fish and line dancing, which is how he met his wife, Cindy. He loved his cats, Miranda, Maverick and Gracie and his bird, Brandy. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his great-grandkids and his nephew.
Cremation rites will be accorded and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Weber-Hurd Funeral Home in Chillicothe. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation towards the funeral expenses.
