Rodney Derreberry 73, of Andrews passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at his daughter's home in Cleveland, Tennessee surrounded by family. He was a native and life long resident of Cherokee County. Rodney worked various jobs throughout life but retired from the Town of Murphy maintenance department. Rodney loved cars; going to car shows, NHRA and NASCAR racing, and his nick name "Hot Rod" which reflected his love for cars.
He was the son of the late Vaughan Derreberry and Martha Jane Rogers Derreberry Bianco.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter Nikita Derreberry; and one brother Jerry Derreberry.
Surviving are two sons, Jamie Derreberry and Kevin Derreberry both of Hiwassee Dam; three daughters, Anisa Rattler of Murphy, North Carolina, Hope Tolan and husband, Dakota of Cleveland, Tennessee and Mila Derreberry of Murphy, North Carolina; one sister, Nancy Worley and husband, Mike of Ducktown, Tennessee; and one brother, Darrell Derreberry and wife, Susie of Bassett, Virginia; seven grandchildren; and one on the way; also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family received friends from 5-7 pm Friday, November 8, 2024 at Ivie Funeral Home, Murphy.
Inurnment took place at Valley River Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made in memory of Rodney Derreberry to Ivie Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1160, Murphy North Carolina to help with funeral expenses.
