Rodney John Dorr, Bagwajinini of the Marten (Waabizheshi) Clan, age 69 of Columbia Heights, MN, died on October 29, 2025, in Brooklyn Park, MN, after a hard-fought battle with frontotemporal dementia. A Visitation will begin at 10 AM with a Funeral Service at 1 PM on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at the Holy Cross Center in Onamia, located at 102 Crosier Drive North, Onamia, MN, with Richard Wright officiating. Arrangements are with the LeMieur Funeral Home in Onamia.
Rodney was born December 7, 1955, in Fargo, North Dakota, to Wesley Dorr Sr. and Betty Lorraine Dorr (Jacobson). He was enrolled in the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe. Rodney grew up in North Minneapolis and graduated from North High School in 1974 with his twin brother Randy. He earned an associate's degree in Appliance Repair from Minneapolis Technical College and was a certified pipe fitter. Rodney married Sharon Rose Partridge of Onigum, MN, and North Minneapolis in 1987. The light of his life, his daughter Alicia Rose, was born in 1994. Rodney spent 31 years working for Minnegasco and Centerpoint Energy as a home service repair technician fixing gas appliances all over the city of Minneapolis and surrounding areas. Rodney was an avid Minnesota sports fan and he often told his family about how badass he and his twin were playing baseball growing up. He was proud to be on the Minnesota Chipps Softball team. Rod was an avid deer hunter and fisherman.
Rodney is survived by his wife, Sharon Rose Dorr (Partridge); daughter, Alicia (Pedro) De La Cruz; mother, Betty Dorr; sisters, Bonnie Dorr and Melissa Steuben; brothers, Bob Dorr, Mike Dorr, Randy Dorr, Wes Dorr Jr., and Gary Dorr; and special nephews. Sean Dorr and Dr. Casey Dorr; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Rodney was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Dorr Sr; and his brothers, Ronald Dorr and Steven Dorr.
